  1. Complete a thorough market analysis. Doing research is critical in uncovering a need in the marketplace. Analysis can be done via surveys of existing customers or simply doing keyword research on what your prospects are searching for online.
  2. Avoid the perfection trap. Once you have completed your analysis, create a product that satisfies the need of your customers. The key however is to avoid investing a lot of resources (time, money, energy) in getting the product to perfection.
  3. A simple rule to follow is “create and adjust.” This simply means you create a product and make it better after you get feedback from your customers. Over time, that can lead to a better product plus new products that you may not have considered previously.
  4. Continually improve what you offer. Over time, you will get better at finding out what your customers wants and creating products that satisfies a need. Asking and listening for feedback needs to be an important strategy in providing exceptional service to your customers.
