Here are the steps you can take to create a personal growth plan that keeps you excited and motivated.
- Develop your vision. This is about defining where you want to be in life. This is where you allow yourself to dream big and define what your ideal life would look like. This also includes defining what success looks like for you.
- Identify your motivations. This is about knowing why you want what you’ve defined in your vision. Without a strong motivation, it will be difficult to continue moving forward during challenging times.
- Evaluate where you currently are. Based on what you’ve defined in your vision, there will be a gap between where you are and where you want to be. Evaluating where you are can include assessing your strengths, weaknesses and skills.
- Define what’s required to reach your vision. This involves defining specific goals you want to achieve. It may include developing new skills or getting the right training, mentoring and coaching. It can also include developing new mindsets or beliefs about what’s possible for you.
- Focus on one thing. The more things you try to focus on at a time, the greater the chances of feeling frustrated or overwhelmed.
